Minnesota Twins top MLB prospect was carted off the field after an awful collision in the outfield. In his first start in Double-A playing center field for the Twins minor league affiliate team the New Britain Rock Cats in the 5th inning he collided with right fielder Mike Kvasnicka and remained motionless on the ground for several minutes.
Buxton left in the ambulance and reportedly suffered a concussion on the play. He missed a good amount of time already earlier in the year due to a wrist injury. Thank goodness he looks like he will be alright though.

Here is what the Twins General Manager had to say: Twins general manager Terry Ryan was at the game and accompanied Buxton in the ambulance. “He’s alert. He has a concussion, so we’ll have to take the normal procedures and protocol for concussion symptoms,” said Ryan. “He’ll certainly be watched.” Ryan said Buxton has no broken bones, neck or shoulder injuries. Ryan said Buxton was unconscious for 10 minutes.
Not good. @RockCats Buxton and Kvasnicka collide, both diving. Both still down minutes later. Calling for cart. pic.twitter.com/Yl5rbQxIXz — Scott Blanchette (@ScottBPhoto8) August 14, 2014

Buxton is hitting .240 in 30 games so far for Class A Fort Myers minor league affiliate team before he was promoted. Last year, he batted .334 with 55 stolen bases in 125 games. It could have been a lot worse and thank God he wasn’t seriously injured.
